How I ended the Year 2021

It was in mid-2021, and I decided to take a professional or career break, as I was not getting right opportunities. Thanks to Covid, many people and corporates are seeing the positive side of career gaps in one’s life.

career gap is a period of time out from employment. It is commonly used for people to take time out of their careers for personal or professional.

I intended to use this break for both my personal and professional reasons.

I spent my time in various activities just like 9-6, indulging in various learnings, looking for right opportunities and along with taking care of my personal things.

If I have to list all the things I have done, it will end up being a “30-minute read” post. So, I will keep this short and crisp.

First and foremost is a pat on my back for consistently posting on this blog until August.

Everything on the learnings from the PMO side. It put pressure on me to upskill myself.

This commitment indirectly made me stick to my schedule and also enhanced my knowledge by 1% every time.

“The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know.

Albert Einstein

Secondly, it helped me to keep myself grounded whenever I learned something new.

Nevertheless, writing also made to organize my thoughts and learn how to create digital content.

It helped me to learn different types of writing as listed below.

  1. Descriptive
  2. Persuasive
  3. Storytelling / Narrative
  4. Training mode
  5. Compare & Contrast
  6. Reviews

Okay, so What happened in September?

Do you know when I started my career in 2008, most of the time, I heard” I’m a Software Engineer” or “I’m working in an IT company”.

Now, all I see on Linkedin is “I’m a Digital Marketer” or “I’m a freelancer” or I’m a content writer“.

I think in the future, all I’m going to hear is “I’m Co-founder of……”.

Ironically, I’m not interested in any of these careers at this point.

I enrolled in 3 months Digital Marketing Internship Program.

Doing an internship with fellow 500+ students of 20-25 age was an altogether different experience, a thriller rollercoaster ride.

Today’s generation is evident in what they want to do and their energy is totally unmatchable.

Why Digital Marketing?

The one thing I would say after completing this course is that,

Digital Marketing is not a career skill, it is a life skill.

My own thought

You will learn many things which will help in your career as you grow up the ladder.

Every leader is involved in marketing in their role.

Every job involves content creation.

Isn’t?

Marketing Automation is the Engineering of Digital Marketing.

Boosting your Content-creating skills and marketing Strategies is important in any career.

Content Writing & Marketing Automation is the NEXT big thing.

This is How I ended the Year 2021:

The icing on the cake is being selected as one of the top interns of the batch.

I cleared the Online DMAT exam in which I scored 65 percentile. Not a bad score but definitely a score for a first-timer.

DMAT is a Competitive Exam conducted by DDIP Team, and the questions will cover everything taught in the Internship Program Videos and beyond.

It will test your practical understanding of the concepts of Digital Marketing.

Though not the only one, but one of the few interns to get an award of excellence.

The difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary is that little “Extra”.

Time to give a pat on my back for all the hard work and enjoy a delicious treat myself.

Happy New Year. Wish everyone a wonderful and prosperous year ahead.
