Use meaningful titles:
Life is short: most people won’t read the full content of your slides;
If your slide has a meaning, so should your title.
Make your slides and bullets Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive (MECE):
Each title is a distinct point supporting the main goal of your presentation, and all slides together make it irrefutable;
Each Level-1 bullet is a unique argument supporting your slide title, and all Level-1 bullets make this title irrefutable;
Each Level-2 bullet is a piece of evidence supporting the Level-1 bullet, and all Level-2 bullets make this argument irrefutable.
Use clear formatting to highlight the main ideas:
In the best scenario, people will read only your Level-1 bullets: make them count and make them stand with a large font and/or bold;
Your Level-2 bullets are only here to support the main points if needed, so use a smaller font but don’t go anywhere under a Size 10;
Don’t use Level-3 bullets.
Ensure perfect consistency and alignment:
All slide titles should have the same font, color, size and alignment;
All bullets of the same level should have the same font, color, size and alignment.
Use visual anchors to make your slide memorable:
A picture is worth a thousand words;
A chart is worth a thousand numbers;
If you’re out of ideas, use one of these stupid icons just to help anchor your ideas in the reader’s brain.
